Too Hot

It is too hot to blog, too hot to think. I haven't done anything on this bloody page since 30 July and the time spent since has been sweaty, miserable and hot. This is the hottest summer ever recorded in Austin and the last time I checked we eclipsed the 50-day record for consecutive triple digit days. That was almost a week ago, and it has definitely been in the low 100's the past two days.

When it rains it pours, so they say. This summer, when it rains it sprinkles, for about 5 minutes, then it bakes you, steams you, and spits you out onto the asphalt. These sayings are also telling for my want of creativity. There've been maybe two things started and finished that I'm proud of, a half dozen more experiments in amateur literature that have been started and dropped - not for lack of quality, but merely for lack of motivation.

Sorry, I should have warned that this post might be a beat down.

Is there such a thing as the Summer Blues?

On another note: who wants to help me get the ball really rolling on a high-speed rail system connecting the Texas triangle? If I won the lottery, that's what I'd put the money towards, an eco(friendly)nomical transportation system from here across the major thoroughfares of Texas.

As long as we have better lobbyists than Southwest Airlines.
